Gueuzerie Tilquin is a bit of an outsider. With the location of the gueuzerie just across the linguistic border in Rebecq and just outside of the illustrious Pajottenland region you could argue that he isn’t situated in the traditional lambic area. We don’t argue over that however, we know that the tradition is kept high at Tilquin.The lambic that Pierre Tilquin matures in his wooden barrels, blends to make a magnificent Geuze or infuses with different fruits is of the highest quality. As one of the last blenders, a Walloon one even, to join the ranks of the small and select group of traditional blenders he initially encountered some resistance. That resistance turned into acceptance once clear that Pierre Tilquin had quality to offer, a quality that deserves a spot on our festival. Oude Gueuze, Oude Quetsche à l’ancienne - lambic with local plums, Oude Mûre à l’ancienne - lambic with blackberries, Rullquin stout - a blend of lambic with a stout, .... Tradition with a proper, undeniable Tilquin twist.
